| | Rehearsal With El Teatro Jornalero!
Rehearsals at the beginning stage of any of our projects usually means a
lot of sitting for me. The actors spend 2 hours doing physical
exercises and the last hour is left for discussion and planning. I'm
sure as they begin to develop characters I'll be able to be more
actively involved.
Last night the USF students who will be assisting us this semester came
by to meet and participate in rehearsal. There are seven students who
will research the subject of deaths along the US-Mexico border and all
other connected issues.
DVD update: Before rehearsal I went over to the offices of the Bay Area
Video Coalition, very nice people. I left the mini dv and was told that
by Monday, Tuesday the latest, the DVD would be ready.
This weekend I want to relax. This will be my first truly free Saturday
in a while. I'm looking forward to it. Next weekend I have the first
two workshops for the Intergenerational Writer's Lab (on Saturday and
Sunday). In fact, Wednesday is the reception for the writers. So I
should do some relaxing.
I'm also thinking about the next play bake-off. I've got a few ideas in my head and need to just sit with them for a bit.
