 Enter At Your  Own Risk

For the past few days I've been meaning to go pick up a copy of John Updike's Terrorist for the June book club meeting here at my 9-5 job. And yesterday when I decided to take the 38 Limited home, I decided it was a sign that I should go to Green Apple Books since the limited stops on 6th Avenue (Green Apple is on 6th and Clement) and not my regular 4th Avenue stop which is the street I live on.

I immediately found a hardback copy for only $8 (score) and then did the most dangerous thing I could have done...I started perusing the shelves to look for my favorite authors.

When I ended up in the D's (looking at Dickens) I noticed a hardback copy of The Brief Wonderous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz, a book I absolutely loved. Since it was a first edition hardback the used book store price was $35.

So yes, score on that one, too. But I wish it had been a little more affordable. I always end up dropping money when I go to Green Apple. I should try not to wander in there too often. It's hazardous to my pocket book.
