Bay Area Playwrights Festival July 17 - 26

photos from the 2008 BAPF

The Bay Area Playwrights Festival is right around the corner, folks. So if you haven't bought your festival pass or checked out the schedule of plays do so now.

I have a few friends in the festival this year: Chris Chen and Julia Jarcho both have full length plays in the festival (Anomienaulis and American Treasure, respectively). And Lauren Yee will be participating in BASH (Bay Area SHorts) with her play Our Peculiar Institution.

The festival will take place over the course of two weekends, and since I'll be in Texas during the first weekend, I'm going to have to do what I did last year and see everything over the course of one weekend (each full length play gets 2 readings, 1 each weekend). Last year I saw almsot all of the plays, all but one. Even though it's incredibly enjoyable, it is tiring to sit through 3 plays a day.

But I'll manage.
