Taking My Cue From Corey Hart

Sometimes all the wisdom you need can be found in an 80s pop song. Okay, I've decided to stop saying that I'm getting "fatigue," as in working on Woman on Fire is getting to me.

No more!

Actually saying that, actually thinking that gives power to the idea and now more than ever the lesson I have to learn as a playwright is how to persevere against writing fatigue. As Prince mentioned in the comments of the last post, he has multiple projects he's working on and when he starts to lose steam on one, he bounces to the next.

That's the idea. Never surrender, keep working, and push through because I need to finish that play, get another to a new draft, and start a new one. Remember the War of Art? That's the difference between those who want to be writers and those who are: writers sit down and write, they don't just talk about it.

More later,
M
