Hunting For Tolstoy and Neruda
Late last week I took a trip to a nearby Half-Priced Books with the hopes of finding a hardback copy of Tolstoy’s Resurrection. Last year my holiday reading (I try to read a classic during my holiday break) was Anna Karinina and I absolutely fell in love with Tolstoy’s writing. So much so that I immediately tried to find another novel of his to read for this holiday break.
But the thing is I prefer hardbacks and the Half-Priced Books didn’t have any Tolstoy except for several paperback copies of Anna Karinina. Oh well.
Then I thought maybe I could at least find some Neruda (I collect editions of Veinte Poems de Amor y Una Canción Desesperada). Much to my disbelief, there was no Neruda to be found. I guess people tend to hold on to his work. That’s something at least.
Here are some of the editions I have of Veinte Poems de Amor y Una Canción Desesperada.
Anyhoo, I just ordered a hardback of Resurrection via Half.com which is my go to for DVDs and books. I’m looking forward to getting it, even if it means I’ll have to start it well into 2012.
